PART 9.9
ROKI AR-Lite Photo Maker
NEW IN v3 — a day-one organic marketing tool. A web-based AR-lite photo/video surface that ships without an app-store install.
#9.9.1 Concept
A web app at roki.lol/ar (or a separate dedicated domain) that lets anyone take AR-lite photos and short videos with a ROKI bunny overlaid on their camera feed. At mint, holders use this to take photos with their fresh NFT and share them — free virality on day one.
#9.9.2 How It Works
- Camera passthrough on phone, via getUserMedia() over HTTPS. No native install required.
- User selects their NFT bunny (or a sample bunny if pre-mint).
- Bunny appears overlaid on the camera feed with a transparent background.
- Drag to reposition; pinch to scale.
- Capture a photo, or record a 5-second video clip.
- One-tap share to TikTok, Instagram, or X.
#9.9.3 Path A vs Path B
Path A (shipping product — v3 scope)
- Composition-only — no real-world surface tracking.
- The bunny is anchored to a screen position, not a room position.
- Pan the camera, and the bunny stays at the chosen screen coordinates relative to the frame, not stuck to a table.
- This is fine for social-share compositions and trivializes engineering cost vs. true AR.
Path B (future / deferred)
- Native iOS (ARKit) + Android (ARCore) app with real surface tracking.
- Lighting estimation, pose detection, and depth occlusion.
- Significant engineering investment — deferred indefinitely.
- Only pursued if Path A proves massive organic traction.
#9.9.4 Why It Matters
- Day-one organic marketing at mint — holders will take AR-lite photos with their brand-new NFT bunny the moment they receive it.
- Zero-install friction — any phone with a modern browser and camera permission can use it.
- Every share carries the ROKI brand to the holder's social graph for free.
- Reinforces emotional attachment to the specific NFT — ‘this is MY bunny in MY photo.’
