Techniques System
#5.1 Overview
110 techniques exist in ROKI Clash, organized into three rarity tiers. Each ROKI has a loadout of 5 technique slots (Copy Ninjas get a 6th slot — see Part 6). The loadout is assigned at Fighter Creation and is permanent except through the Reforging mechanic (see Part 15).
#5.2 Rarity Tiers
- Legendary: 13 techniques. Extremely powerful, often game-defining. NFT tier only.
- Rare: 43 techniques. Strong, strategic. NFT and Paid tiers.
- Common: 54 techniques. Solid baseline. All tiers.
#5.3 Loadout Formula
- Every base NFT ROKI gets 2-3 Commons, 1-2 Rares, and ~30% chance of 1 Legendary
- Most ROKIs have zero Legendaries; two Legendaries is a collector's item; three is almost mythical
#5.4 Cooldown Rules
Default cooldown is 2 rounds after use. Some techniques have longer cooldowns (3 or 4 rounds). Once-per-match techniques exist for the most extreme abilities.
#5.5 The 13 Legendary Techniques
- Swap — Switch ALL zone HP values with opponent. Total HP reversal.
- Resurrection — Zone KO'd to 0 HP comes back at 25 HP. Works once.
- Power Absorb — Every block permanently reduces opponent's damage for that zone by 5. Caps at -15 per zone.
- Power Surge — Every clean hit permanently increases your damage for that zone by 5. Caps at +15 per zone.
- Iron Will — No zone can drop below 10 HP. Can only lose by points decision.
- Berserker Mode — Permanently block 1 zone but attack damage increased 50%.
- Clone — Attack 2 zones AND defend 3 zones at full power this round. 4-round cooldown.
- Weakening Aura — All opponent attacks do 10 less damage permanently.
- Fortress Mode — Permanently block 3 zones instead of 2. Attack damage reduced 25%.
- Executioner — If attack hits zone below 50 HP that is undefended, double damage.
- Condemned — Mark opponent zone. If not healed above 70 HP in 3 rounds, drops to 10 HP.
- Momentum Lock — If you win a round cleanly, next round attack is unblockable.
- Bloodlust — Every undefended hit gives +5 permanent stacking attack bonus. Caps at +15 per zone.
#5.6 Rare and Common Techniques
Full lists preserved from the original ROKI Everything document. 43 Rares cover damage boosts, zone targeting, disruption, healing, reflection, disabling, and utility. 54 Commons cover consistent bread-and-butter effects. All effect handlers are implemented in techniqueHandlers.ts in the codebase.
Notable Rare examples: Double Strike, Ambush, Precision Strike, Combo, Bulldoze, Haymaker, Fortress, Parry, Poison, Predator, Time Bomb, Phantom, Final Stand.
Notable Common examples: Cheap Shot, Lunge, Heavy Slam, Iron Skin, Deflect, Dodge, Brace, Last Stand, Second Wind, Adrenaline, Thorns, Punish, Rage, All or Nothing.

Legendaries are exclusive to NFTs. This preserves NFT mechanical value. Free tier additionally cannot access Rares (3-technique loadout, Commons only).
